Deputy John Davis & Ringo
John was born in Beatrice, Nebraska and was raised in Jefferson County. He lived in Diller until the age of eight when he moved to and has lived in the Fairbury area most of his life. He graduated from Fairbury High School in 1982. John began his Law Enforcement career in 2003 with The Fairbury Police Department. He attended the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in June of 2003 and graduated in September of 2003. John became a Police service Dog handler in 2009 with his Narcotics detection K9, Ringo. In January 2011 he and his K9 partner Ringo joined the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office full time. John had served as a reserve deputy from 2006 up to this time.
John enjoys spending his off time with his family and friends, attending sporting events, (especially softball), motorcycling, camping and time with Ringo playing Frisbee and going for walks.
Deputy Jeff Horky
Jeff was born in Fairbury and has lived here his entire life. He graduated from Fairbury High School in 1982. He went to and graduated from SCC Milford in 1984. He then went to and graduated from SCC Beatrice and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Jeff joined the Jefferson County Sheriff Office in 2006 and attended the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center.
Deputy John Korthals
John has lived in Fairbury most of his life. He is a graduate of Fairbury High School and Peru State College. John has been in law enforcement since 2004 and has been with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office since 2005.
Deputy Joshua Vossler
Deputy Joshua Vossler graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 2004. After graduating Joshua worked at Cornhusker Detox Place while attending the Law Enforcement Program at Southeast Community College in Lincoln. Joshua was a Corporal for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services for two years. Joshua graduated in the 172nd Class of the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center and has been working for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office since January 2009.
Joshua has received training and is currently the D.A.R.E instructor for Jefferson County. Joshua is also an active member of the Jefferson Community Coalition.
Joshua enjoys reading, spending time with his family and being involved with his family.
Chief Deputy Matthew Shultz
Matthew J. Schultz has been in law enforcement for 9.5 years. Seven of those years as a Deputy Sheriff with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Matthew is a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor with specialties in Firearms, Emergency Vehicle Operations and Illlegal Narcotic Investigation. He is a certified Methamphetamine Lab Technician and Site Safety Officer. He also has experience as a Law Enforcement K-9 handler and has been an instructor at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center.
Office Manager Kim Perkins
Kim was born in North Dakota and moved to Beatrice, NE at the age of 4 and was a 1984 graduate of Beatrice High School. Kim joined the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office as the Office Manager in March of 1999, coming from Beatrice, NE where she worked for the Gage County Sheriff's Office from 1987 to 1999. Kim also works as a part-time EMT for the Jefferson County Ambulance District #33.
During Kim's spare time she enjoys playing volleyball and softball, music, singing, walking and cross stitching, but her most favorite is being an aunt and attending her nieces and nephews activities.
